Revelation 8-- Impending Global Disasters

Ravaging wild fires that consume million dollar homes. Massive hurricanes that level entire cities. Killer earthquakes that topple buildings. Just about every year, somewhere in the world, we see natural disasters like these take place. But imagine if disasters like these were taking place simultaneously all over the world! These are just a taste of what is to come as we see God's judgment intensify in Revelation 8. The seventh seal is opened which unleashes the second wave of earth's punishment known as the trumpet judgments. The first trumpet destroys one-third of earth's vegetation. The second devastates the seas, including fish and ships. Next, a third of earth's fresh water sources are attacked. The fourth trumpet, which is the last recorded in this chapter, alters the sun and moon so that night is extended. These impending global disasters should challenge all of us to seriously consider what we are doing to reach this world for Christ. We don't know the year and day when God's judgments will begin and those outside of Christ will endure such great punishment, but we do know that every day multitudes without Christ slip into eternity. What will you do today to touch someone's life in such a way that it changes them forever?
