I chuckled as I read the T-shirt a young child was wearing. "Help! I've started talking and I can't shut up!" We probably have all experienced those times, either with our own children or with others, when they start talking about something and won't stop. Whatever is on their brain at the time comes out their mouths...and keeps on coming! In Acts 4 we see a grown-up version of this. But instead of talking nonstop about something of little importance, we find the Apostles boldly talking about Christ. "We can't stop speaking of the things that we have seen and heard," said Peter and John (v20). In the face of persecution for sharing their faith, Peter and John refused to be silent. They couldn't be silent. They had experienced so much with Christ, and His resurrection had radically changed their lives that they could not help but tell others. God was alive and real and working in their lives. They naturally had to talk about what was so important to them. When was the last time we experienced God's working in such a way that we couldn't help but talk about Him? Shouldn't every day be like that? Shouldn't who we are as believers just naturally come out in our daily conversations? Maybe we need to pray the prayer of the early church, "Lord...grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word" (v29).
